A sketch on a napkin, a frame from a film, a STEP file — any of them is enough to start. We quote the material, the process and the lead time before anything gets made, and we'll say no early if the part wants a process we can't do well.

Process

Five steps, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Conversation

    Send a sketch, a reference photo, a CAD file, or a paragraph. We'll tell you straight away if it's not a fit for our processes — a two-metre steel gate isn't, a two-metre printed gate prop is.

  2. 02

    Design & quote

    We model the part, pick the process, and quote material, finishing hours and a lead time. The quote is itemised so you can see what the finish costs versus the print, and cut one to fit the budget.

  3. 03

    Fabrication

    The build runs on our own FDM and resin machines and the laser downstairs — though for the handful of processes we don't keep in house, metal work, vacuum forming, large-format upholstery, we use shops we've worked with for years — and every part comes back to our bench before you see it. You get a photo update when the main build comes off the machine.

  4. 04

    Finishing

    Sanding, priming, airbrush, hand paint, clear coat. This is usually half the hours on the quote and it's the half people notice. Two revision rounds are included; a third is billed at bench rate.

  5. 05

    Handover

    Collect from the shop or we deliver in NYC. You get care notes for the finish and, if the piece might rent later, an option to keep it in our catalogue and earn against the build cost.
